The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is an independent membership organisation concerned principally with the education, training and assessment of surgeons, dental surgeons and doctors who are involved in the surgical care of patients. Founded in 1505, the College currently has a membership of around 23,000 in approximately 100 countries throughout the world.
About the Role
This role is based in the Education section within the Professional Activities Department. The section supports, develops and delivers the Educational portfolio of the College. The section consists of three sections: Courses and Events, eLearning and the Skills Centre, working under the direction of the Head of Education and the Director of Professional Activities. The Education Department is supported by clinical advisers including Conveners of Education for both Surgery and Dental, and an eLearning Surgical Adviser.
The purpose of this role is to provide all aspects of administrative support for the Education Section in the delivery of courses and events.
Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills
Educated to at least credit-level standard grade English (or equivalent), you will have good keyboard skills and experience of using IT systems efficiently and effectively including MS Word, Excel. Experience of standard office administration processes, such as producing correspondence, handling e-mails, phone calls and filing are essential.
You will possess a good telephone manner, the ability to conduct oneself with in a professional manner and an enthusiastic, methodical and conscientious approach to work. In this role it is essential to have a flexible attitude to assigned tasks and the ability to work as part of a team.
