Deputy Convener of Examinations

Applications are invited for the post of Deputy Convener of Examinations for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The Deputy Convener of Examinations will work closely with, and report to, the Convener of Examinations and to the Office Bearers, through the Vice President with responsibility for Examinations.

The post-holder will be expected to represent the College on a number of intercollegiate Committees.  Examinations are conducted internationally and in the UK and some overseas travel will be required.

It is anticipated that the Deputy Convener of Examinations will provide up to the equivalent of two sessions a week in support of these tasks. The post will commence on 1 February 2018 and will ordinarily be for a three-year term. 

Shortlisting is expected at the end of November and interviews will be held on 3 January 2018.

Applicants should be RCSEd Fellows in good standing and be current examiners for the College with a minimum of three years’ experience.  A knowledge of Quality Assurance and international examinations delivery is required.
