President of West African College of Surgeons Visits RCSEd

RCSEd President Ian Ritchie and Vice President Mr Mike Lavelle-Jones were delighted to welcome Professor Herve Yangni-Angate, President of the West African College of Surgeons to the College (WACS) on Wednesday 8 October 2014.
Productive discussions were held on the topic of co-operation and collaborative working between the two Colleges, particularly around the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that has been agreed between the two Colleges.
The MoU emphasises the need for both Colleges to support joint members in their geographical sphere, as well as agreeing to strengthen educational ties and attend meetings. In the spirit of cooperaton, President Yangi-Agnate invited President Mr Ritchie to chair a discussion at the WACS meeting in March 2015. The remainder of the meeting involved fruitful discussions on the development of a joint project on paediatric surgery in West Africa.
