RCSEd Dentsply Sirona Dental Skills Competition
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh's Faculty of Dental Surgery, in partnership with Dentsply Sirona, is pleased to have successfully for two years run the Dental Clinical Skills Competition.
Registration open for the 2016/2017 competition!
Regional heats for the competition take place in dental schools across the UK in autumn/winter.
During the heats, final year dental students showcase their clinical skills with the best student from each heat winning a travel and accommodation package to compete in the Grand Final in Edinburgh in the following spring.
At the Grand Final, the top 16 finalists, from across the UK, are tasked to undertake a broad range of clinical procedures before determining who will be crowned the overall winner at the Competition’s Grand Final Dinner.
As well as prizes awarded to the winner and runner-ups, all participants receive a certificate of participation as well as a year's affiliation to the RCSEd's Pre-Membership Dental Affiliate Network.

"The clinical skills competition really captures the students' enthusiasm and drive, challenging a range of key clinical dental skills - it's the dental schools' equivalent of the British bake- off!" said Mr Brian Nattress, "There's a real sense of excitement at the regional heats and a great atmosphere watching the students compete against each other. I am looking forward to seeing the students in action and witnessing again the great sense of camaraderie as they compete alongside colleagues from other dental schools. I am confident the students will have a thoroughly enjoyable experience as their clinical skills are challenged to the full!"
